Popquebracho ATO Powder is a powder product obtained by chemically treating natural quebracho extract in order to achieve full cold water solubility and containing the largest tannin percentage among vegetable extracts. It is noraml spray-dried extract. It is excellent for drum tannage and also for the retannage of chrome leather.

Popquebracho ATO Powder
Applications :

Popquebracho ATO Powder may be used alone or blended with ether vegetable extracts. The following use is recommended :
Based on limed weight :
25-30% of Popquebracho ATO Powder for vachetta tannage (veg. Leather).
40% of Popquebracho ATO Powder for soles tannage.
Based on shaved weight :
3-18% of Popquebracho ATO Powder for chrome leather retannage.

Recommendations :

During the leather production, there may be a risk of iron contamination. In order to prevent this, we suggest to use an iron sequestering agent such as Pop DS Powder ( 0.2% on the reference weight), which may be added together with the first additiowof tanning agents on the tanning or . retanning processes.
Powder extract dissolution should be performed by means of mechanical shaking. If done manually, it is advisable to work by dissolving the contents of each bag. The use of water at 35°C facilities dissolution and prevents lump formation.
Using small amounts of sodium metabisulfite and formic acid.iri tanning liquors and processes lightens the colour and improves the appearance of the end-products.

POPMYROBALAN EXTRACT

POP MYRAB EXTRACT is vegetable extract powder and is hydrolysable tanning material with high in acidity and less salt. It gives mellowing effect and promotes the fixation of condensed type tannins. If blended with catechol tannins it imparts light colour, fullness plumpness and firmness to leather.

POPLIME LA LIQUID

(Liming Auxiliary)

POPLIME LA LIQUID is a liming auxiliary used for easier and effective dehairing and reduces the swelling of pelts.

With Poplime LA Liquid the dosage of Sodium Sulphide and Sodium Sulphydrate can be reduced.

Poplime LA Liquid enables the chemicals employed in the liming process to penetrate through the leather skin more evenly. The result is that the pelts swell more evenly and the chemicals can be utilized more efficiently.

POPTAN FRS

An anionic Resin syntan for retannage of all types of chrome leathers.

PROPERTIES :

Poptan FRS is a spray dried, pale brown, free flowing anionic Resin syntan.

Poptan FRS precipitates under acid conditions and this precipitate, in combination with colloidal and other softening agents, has a selective filling action which improves the more open structured areas as Belly flanks of the leather.

Poptan FRS when used as a Retannage for neutralised chrome stock results in a leather with a full feel, a tight flexible grain and uniform softness.

Poptan CSN

A light–fast chrome containing synthetic tannin with buffering and complex forming properties.

Poptan CSN  is a combination of basic chromium salts and a lightfast white tanning agent. The product can be  used as selftanning agent or as pretanning and retanning agent in vegetable and chrome tannage. It imparts to the leather a particularly soft handle and a tight grain.

PROPERTIES:

·         Poptan CSN  is primarily used for the production of leathers with mellowness and supple grain without altering the chrome leather character.

·         The use of Poptan CSN retains fineness and tightness of grain and prepares the leather for level dyeing.

·         It is preferable to use Poptan CSN in powder form, 4-8% Poptan CSN may be used depending on the type of leather.

·         Poptan CSN is recommended for neutralizing and retanning of chrome leathers. It also has complex forming and buffering properties.

·         For the tannage of low chrome wet blue to improve uptake, 1%-2% is recommended.

Popbate-ALK is an enzymatic bating agent which works in alkaline range. Popbate-ALK is a versatile bating agent based on proteolytic enzymes for all types of leather. This is an optimal blend of proteolytic enzymes from animal and microbial sources. The tailor-made formulation has also lipolytic side activities which help in removing the fatty tissues adhering to the skin and thus facilitating an optimum bating action.

Advantages :

• Popbate-ALK ensures efficient loosening of scud consisting of short hairs, grease, lime soaps, dark coloured pigments and traces of epidermis, resulting in a fine and silky grained leather.
• POPBATE-ALK has proteolytic enzymes which ensure optimal removal of non-leather forming proteinaceous material like albumin, globulins and mucoids from the hides and skins.
• Popbate-ALK gives a more elastic grain without increasing the “loose grain“ tendency.
• Popbate–ALK slackens the hide structure gently without causing excessive decomposition of the flanks.

APPLICATIONS

Poptan PG 50 possesses a number of important properties as a tanning and

retanning material. It gives softer and fuller leathers. It has a wide range of applications in chrome, vegetable or combination tannages.

Poptan PG 50 improves the uptake of chrome, when used in rechroming system, giving a fuller, softer leather with a fine break. Recommended addition 1%-4% based on shaved weight.

Poptan PG 50 is highly recommended for the semi-chroming of E.I. & vegetable tanned leathers. By offering a retannage with Poptan PG 50 before chrome, it is possible to reduce the chrome offered and achieve an increase in the shrinkage temparature of the leather. This increase is considerably greater than the one obtained in a conventional semi-chroming process. The improvement in fullness and softness of the finished leather is an added advantage. Recommended addition 1%-5% based on crust weight.

Poptan PG 50 is also suitable for the tannage of pickled woolskins in combination with chrome, where it reduces the risk of chrome staining and gives white wool. It is recommended to give an addition of 3 gms.-4 gms. per litre of the float.

Poptan PG 50 when used as a neutralising agent for chrome leather, it fixes the chrome and virtually eliminates bleeding of chromium into the solution. Its use for this purpose can make a significant contribution to improving the quality of effluent where chrome is a problem. Recommended addition 1%-4% based on shaved weight.

Storage

Presents no problem under normal storage conditions and has an indefinite shelf life.
