MIMOSA GSK

 

MIMOSA GSK is a soft mimosa single bleached extract of high quality indicated for tannage of hides and skins whenever a very light colour is required. In the tannage of soles and vachettas a very nice beige tone, often desired, is acheived.

PROPERTIES :

MIMOSA GSK is soluble in tap and hot water, with the following characteristics on vegetable tannage :

For chrome leather tannage MIMOSA GSK permits :

 

• Bellies and flanks fillings.

• Better buffing properties.

• Excellent polish effect.

• To keep the embossing effect.

 

APPLICATION :

 

MIMOSA GSK may be used alone or blended with other vegetable extracts. The following use is recommended :

• Based on limed weight

• 25-30% for vachetta tannage (veg leather)

• 40-45% for sole tannage.

 

• Based on shaved weight

• 5-15% for chrome leather tannage.

RECOMMENDATION :

During the leather production, there may be a risk of iron contamination. In order to prevent this, we suggest to use an iron-sequestering agent such as Pop DS Powder (0.2% on the reference weight), which may be added together with the first addition of tanning agents on the tanning or retanning processes.

 

STORAGE :

MIMOSA GSK maintains its characteristics unchanged if properly stored in dry premises protected from sunlight in closed bags.

 

PACKING :

Popbate-ALKC is an enzymatic bating agent which works in alkaline range. Popbate-ALKC is a versatile bating agent based on proteolytic enzymes for all types of leather. This is an optimal blend of proteolytic enzymes from animal and microbial sources. The tailor-made formulation has also lipolytic side activities which help in removing the fatty tissues adhering to the skin and thus facilitating an optimum bating action.

Advantages:

Popbate-ALKC ensures efficient loosening of scud consisting of short hairs, grease, lime soaps, dark coloured pigments and traces of epidermis, resulting in a fine and silky grained leather.

Popbate-ALKC has proteolytic enzymes which ensure optimal removal of non-leather forming proteinaceous material like albumin, globulins and mucoids from the hides and skins.

Popbate-ALKC gives a more elastic grain without increasing the “loose grain“ tendency.

Popbate-ALKC slackens the hide structure gently without causing excessive decomposition of the flanks.

Properties

• Popfil RHN is light fast and gives level shades. Together with white tanning agents, it produces a still higher degree of whiteness.
• Popfil RHN is designed for retannage of all types of leathers to impart fullness, tightness and a fine break to chrome and semi-chrome tanned leathers.
• Even small amount of Popfil RHN will fill the leather without impairing the fineness of grain and will largely retain the typical characteristics of chrome leather.
• Popfil RHN is susceptible to acid and may precipitate at a pH below 3.8; and not readily miscible with cationic products ( e.g. mineral tanning agents ).
• Popfil RHN is perfectly compatible with synthetic and vegetable tanning agents, sulphited fat liquors, anionic dyes and other anionic products, if the pH does not lie below the specified limit.

Application

Popfil RHN is used for retanning chrome leather to improve its fullness and tightness of grain without causing formation of a coarser grain. A dosage of 3-5% is recommended.

As Popfil RHN is sensitive to acid, the leather must be neutralised throughout the cross section before its application.

Popfil RHN tightens the fibre structure of the leather, thereby producing leathers with improved buffability characteristics. Thus the product can be used in the manufacture of nubucks, suedes and corrected grain leathers.

Due to its molecular weight, it has a selective filling action on loose structures of the skin. The product retains the full chrome character without effecting the softness and therefore suitable for very soft type of leathers also.

Poptan FG is a modified gambier extract belonging to the group of catechol tannins.
